About

Alice uses a personal experience of a location or season as the inspiration for her work and then develops it through memories and photographs, the artist breaks from the traditional landscape to strive for an atmosphere through abstraction and expression. Everybody sees something different in the works, just as everyone feels something different about a place, a time or an event. The work often shifts between the uncanny and the beautiful, allowing the viewer to return and see something new. Materials and process are important to her, as she combines innovative uses of media to create depth and express the joy of paint. Alice works predominantly in acrylic inks and oils pushing the boundaries of the paints with manipulation of texture and bold use of colour.

Alice is a full-time professional artist based in Gloucestershire and graduated in fine art painting from Bath Spa University. Alice collaborates with the company ARTIQ, who arrange hire and sale of fine art to prestigious business premises in London, she also exhibits and curates through an art organisation called ‘ArtCan’ that creates opportunities for artists in prominent locations, such as at ‘The Shard, London’ where she was part of the curation team, ‘The Mall Gallery', and ‘Clerkenwell Gallery’. Alice exhibited at 'Canwood Gallery' alongside pieces by Carl Andre  and had a piece purchased as part of the permanent collection. Alice has also been selected to exhibit at the ‘Royal Birmingham Society of the Arts’ and as a wild card on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2019.

The artist works from a studio at the end of her garden, fuelled by tea and the radio, and plagued by her dog.
