Brighton was inspired by the beautiful city, I took elements of the landscape that particularly struck me such as the pebble beach and the Pavilion and incorporated them into an open and playful composition reflecting the fun and alternative atmosphere that Brighton has. It was important for me that although the work had to feel like England it also had to feel escapist and fantastical.
