Night Fall
Mixed Media on Canvas
76 x 102 cm
2014
ON LOAN
In Night Fall I wanted to capture the startling beauty and drama of a sunset, I felt it was important to break away from the mundane and traditional and add the impending sense of nightfall using vertical drips of viscous paint as if the scene were about to be swallowed up and covered, creating an urgency of time. I accentuated the aeroplane trails and signpost to play with scale and create angles that bounce the focus.
