Everyone Still Calls It Saigon
Mixed Media on Canvas
75 x 102 cm
2014
SOLD
I spent 5 days in Ho Chi Minh City and found it an exhilarating and exotic place. I wanted my mark making to show the energy and rough and ready nature of the city, the kind of organised chaos it exudes. The jumble of buildings and mopeds shows how ram-packed the city is, the drips of oil paint showing some of the grime that creates, yet the bright colours contrast to up-lift the piece and show the fun and exultant feeling of the place.
